Terms and Conditions
1. PROMOTER
The promoter of this competition is Cotton On South Africa (Pty) Ltd ("the Promoter")
(Registration No: 2010/019085/07)

2. ELIGIBILITY
Entry is free and open to legal residents of South Africa.
Entrants under the age of 18 must have parental or guardian consent to enter.
Employees of Cotton On Group, their agencies, partners, affiliates, and immediate family members are not eligible to enter.
3. COMPETITION PERIOD
The competition starts on Sunday, 27 April 2026 and closes at 11:59pm SAST on Monday, 25 May 2026.
Entries received after the closing date will not be considered.
4. HOW TO ENTER
To enter the competition, participants must:
Purchase from the V&A between 27 April 2026 and 25 May 2026
5. WINNER SELECTION
Five (5) winner will be selected at random from all valid entries received during the competition period.
The winner will be contacted via phone call within five (5) business days of the competition closing.
If the winner does not respond within 48 hours, the Promoter reserves the right to redraw.
6. PRIZE
Prize (5 Winners) — Typo 40% Membership
• The winners will receive a Typo Membership entitling them to 40% off up to 12 Typo products per month.
• The membership is valid for 12 months from the date of issue. • The discount is valid exclusively at Typo V&A Waterfront.
7. PRIZE CONDITIONS
• A maximum of 12 items may be purchased at 40% off per month.
• The monthly 12-item limit may not be exceeded and unused items will not carry over.
• The membership is issued to the registered winner only and is not transferable.
• The membership is not redeemable for cash, credit, or any other benefit.
• The discount may not be used in conjunction with any other promotion or offer.
• Proof of identification may be required at the time of purchase.
8. UNCLAIMED PRIZES
If the prize remains unclaimed after 48 hours of winner notification, the Promoter reserves the right to conduct a redraw.
9. LIABILITY
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Promoter and its affiliates shall not be liable for any loss, injury, or damage arising from participation in the competition or use of the prize.
10. PRIVACY
Personal information collected will only be used for administering the competition and will be processed in accordance with the Promoter's Privacy Policy available at: https://www.cottonon.club/.
11. GENERAL
• Entry into this competition constitutes acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
• The Promoter reserves the right to verify the validity of entries and usage of the membership.
• Lost, stolen, or unused memberships or benefits will not be replaced or extended.
• The Promoter reserves the right to amend, suspend, or cancel the competition or membership at any time if required.
• This promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed, or administered by Instagram or Meta.

General
1. The Factorie Individual Uniform Art Open Call in partnership with Art School Africa &
Samurai Farai(the “Competition”) is promoted by Cotton On Group trading as Factorie
(“Factorie”, “we”, “us”, “the Promoter”).
2. The Competition is run in partnership with Samurai Farai and Art School Africa.
3. By entering the Competition, all entrants agree to be bound by these Terms and
Conditions in their entirety. Factorie reserves the right to disqualify any entrant who does
not comply.
4. These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
5. Factorie reserves the right to amend, suspend, or cancel the Competition at any time
and without prior notice, should circumstances beyond its reasonable control require it to
do so.
Eligibility
6. The Competition is open to residents of South Africa who are 18 years of age or older at
the time of entry.
7. Entrants must be 16 years of age and older at the time of entry
8. Employees of Cotton On Group, Factorie, Samurai Farai, Art School Africa, and their
immediate family members are eligible to enter.
9. Entrants under the age of 18 should have an adult representing them.
10. Entry is free of charge. No purchase is necessary to enter.
11. Entrants may submit only one (1) entry per person. Multiple submissions from the same
individual will result in disqualification.
Competition Period
Competition opens: 19 May 2026
Competition closes: 31 May 2026 at 23:59 SAST
Winner announcement: To be confirmed within 7 days of closing date
12. Entries received outside of the competition period will not be considered.
13. Factorie accepts no responsibility for late, lost, or incomplete entries due to technical
failure or any other reason beyond its control.
How to Enter
To enter the Competition, entrants must complete all of the following steps:
• Submit original artwork via the official entry link provided by @Factorie_Africa on
Instagram
• Follow @Factorie_Africa, @ArtSchoolAfrica, and @Samurai_Farai on Instagram
We would love for you to spread the word:
• Share the competition to your story or tag a fellow creative this is not required to enter,
but helps us reach more emerging artists who deserve to be seen.
14. Incomplete entries those missing any of the mandatory steps above will not be
considered.
15. All artwork submitted must be original work created by the entrant. Submission of work
that infringes on the intellectual property rights of any third party will result in immediate
disqualification.
16. Factorie reserves the right to request proof of original authorship at any time.
5. Entry Requirements & Artwork Guidelines
17. All submitted artwork must be original and created solely by the entrant.
18. The use of artificial intelligence (AI) tools to generate or assist in creating submitted
artwork is strictly prohibited. Any entry found to contain AI-generated content will be
disqualified and will not be considered. Factorie and the judging panel reserve the right
to make this determination at their sole discretion.
19. Artwork must not contain any content that is defamatory, offensive, obscene,
discriminatory, or otherwise inappropriate as determined at Factorie’s sole discretion.
20. Artwork must not feature any third-party logos, trademarks, or copyrighted material
without express written consent.
21. Artwork may be submitted in any medium including but not limited to illustration,
painting, mixed media, and digital art provided it can be submitted in digital format.
Photography as a standalone medium is not the focus of this open call; we are looking
for original artwork and creative expression.
22. Submitted artwork must be of sufficient resolution and quality for potential in-store
display and social media
23. The theme of all submitted artwork must be aligned with the Individual Uniform concept
celebrating individuality, identity, and creative self-expression.
Judging & Selection
All valid entries will be reviewed and judged by a panel comprising:
• Samurai Farai - Cultural and artistic perspective
• Art School Africa representative - Creative development perspective
• Factorie Creative Director - Brand alignment perspective
Judging Criteria
Entries will be assessed holistically across the following criteria:
• Originality and creativity
• Alignment with the Individual Uniform theme and brand aesthetic
• Technical skill and quality of execution
• Storytelling the narrative and intention behind the artwork
• Suitability for in-store display in a retail environment
24. The judging panel’s decision is final and binding. No correspondence will be entered into
regarding the outcome.
25. Factorie reserves the right to not award a prize if, in the judging panel’s opinion, entries
of sufficient quality are not received.
26. A shortlist of the top four (4) finalists will be selected prior to the winner being
announced.
Prizes
Winner — 1st Place
• A Factorie wardrobe to the value of R10,000
• An art materials voucher to the value of R10,000
• Structured mentorship sessions with Samurai Farai and Art School Africa, focused on
both artistic craft and the business of art
• Their artwork featured in a Factorie store (Sandton City flagship)
• Ongoing in-store showcase opportunities
• Social storytelling feature across Factorie’s social media platforms
Finalists — Top 4
• Social media story telling feature across @Factorie_Africa channels(1x Reel + 6-8
Image carousel) which will be shot and edited by Factorie
• Recognition across Art School Africa platforms
27. Prizes are non-transferable, non-refundable, and cannot be exchanged for cash or any
other alternative.
28. Factorie reserves the right to substitute any prize with an alternative of equal or greater
value at its sole discretion.
29. The winner is responsible for any tax implications arising from receipt of the prize, in
accordance with South African tax law.
Winner Notification & Obligations
30. The winner will be notified via direct message on Instagram within 7 days of the
competition closing date.
31. The winner must respond to the notification within 48 hours of it being sent. Failure to
respond within this timeframe may result in the prize being forfeited and awarded to an
alternative finalist.
32. The winner agrees to participate in reasonable promotional activity related to the
competition and the prize, including but not limited to: a social media announcement,
photography or video content for Factorie’s channels, and participation in the mentorship
programme as outlined.
33. The winner’s name and artwork may be published across Factorie’s social media
channels, in-store, and in any related press coverage.
Intellectual Property & Content Usage
34. By entering the Competition, entrants grant Factorie, Samurai Farai, and Art School
Africa a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual licence to use, reproduce, display, and
share their submitted artwork for the purposes of promoting the Competition and the
Individual Uniform initiative across all media channels, including social media, in-store,
and press.
35. Entrants retain ownership of their original artwork. Factorie will credit the artist wherever
the work is published.
36. Factorie will not sell or commercially exploit entrant artwork beyond the promotional
purposes outlined in these Terms and Conditions without prior written consent from the
artist.
37. Entrants warrant that their submission is their own original work, does not infringe the
intellectual property rights of any third party, and that they have full authority to grant the
licence described above.
Privacy & Personal Information
38. Personal information collected during the entry process will be used solely for the
purposes of administering the Competition and communicating with entrants and the
winner.
39. By entering, entrants consent to Factorie storing and processing their personal
information in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), 4 of
2013.
40. Factorie will not share personal information with any third party other than those directly
involved in administering the Competition, namely Samurai Farai and Art School Africa.
41. Entrants may request deletion of their personal data at any time by contacting

General Conditions
42. Factorie accepts no responsibility for any loss, damage, or injury suffered by entrants or
third parties in connection with participation in the Competition.
43. Factorie reserves the right to disqualify any entrant who it has reasonable grounds to
believe has acted fraudulently, dishonestly, or in breach of these Terms and Conditions.
44. If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is found to be invalid or unenforceable,
the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
45. These Terms and Conditions constitute the entire agreement between Factorie and
entrants with respect to the Competition.
